First Tee

of Lehigh Valley and Berks

Dear Friends of First Tee Lehigh Valley & Berks,

As 2020 draws to a close and we reflect on the past year, I think we can all say that it has been one of the most challenging years in history. The COVID -19 pandemic has dominated our daily lives, resulted in a staggering loss of life, and forced all of us to alter our daily routines. This has had a major impact on most all of us, including First Tee Lehigh Valley & Berks. We have had to cancel all of our Spring and Fall after-school programs, and we were only able to have a few summer programs which started in mid-July. Despite these many obstacles, we were able to serve almost 100 area youth to achieve our mission of using the game of golf to instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices while helping kids build self-esteem, self-discipline, and a sense of individual achievement.

We are proud of the progress we see our participants make as golfers, but more importantly, as people. If you were able to attend our October outdoor Friend-raiser you were able to hear some of them speak of the positive impact First Tee has had on them.

Looking ahead to 2021, we hope to return to more normal routines, offer the program to vastly greater numbers of children, and add locations in all three counties we serve–Berks, Lehigh and Northampton. All of this will only be possible with your continued support. Please remember– EVERY $100 DONATION PROVIDES A CHILD WITH 20 HOURS OF PROGRAM INSTRUCTION. It also enables many children to participate who would not otherwise be able to attend.

Please give as generously as you can by filling out the enclosed envelope, or online at www.firstteelehighvalley.org (orange donate tab on top right of page). You may also want to see if your place of employment has a matching gift program.

Thank you for believing in the work of First Tee Lehigh Valley & Berks, and in our ability to impact the lives of Lehigh Valley and Berks County youth.

We are grateful for your support and send our best wishes to you and yours for a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.

Sincerely,
Fred Keller
Executive Director

Our Heart and Soul

We enable kids and teens to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges by seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills. We provide active learning experiences that develop inner strength, self-confidence and resilience that kids can carry into everything they set out to accomplish.

Building Game Changers

Experiences are our greatest teacher. We believe in developing the ones that are just as fun as they are meaningful, where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better equipped for whatever comes their way next. With proven results, we aim to help kids become better versions of themselves while enriching the communities around us.
